<p>The <i>Prachin Shree Jagannath Mandir </i>of Bodh Gaya is located in the north-eastern corner of the Bodhgaya Mahabodhi Mahavihar, in the Gaya district of Bihar, India. The temple is managed by a registered Trust named <i>"Prachin Shree Jagannath Mandir Nyas Samiti"</i>, which is a unit of the<strong> "Bihar State Religious Trust Board"</strong>. This temple is a replica of the Jagannath Temple of Puri in Odisha, in India and its main sanctum sanctorum houses Shree Jagannath, Balram, and Subhadra. The adjoining room houses divine statues of Ram Durbar in one, and Lord Shiva family in another. There is also a Shiva Temple near the southern gate of the main temple, housing a double Shiv Lingam and the statues of Mata Parvati, Kartikeya and Hanuman Ji.This land is a part of one of the grand events of Sanatan Dharma held around Pind Daan Vedis called Dharmaranya, Matang Vapi, and Saraswati. These vedis lie towards the eastern side of the Niranjana river where Yuddhishthir had performed a Yajna, and a series of Shraaddh, Tarpan, and Pinddaan after the great battle of the Mahabharat for the salvation of battle-deaths of all his departed ancestors and kinsmen during the Dwapar Yug. After performing Shraaddh (Pindaan) there is a tradition of offering grains (annadaan) to the priest and the poor. this place is being used for the purpose since time immemorial.</p><p>The temple stands at latitude N-24° 41.7168 and longitudes E-84°59.6334" with a climate, moderately cold in winter, and hot in summer. Its elevation above the sea level is 108 metres.</p>
