Preparations for the upcoming world-famous *Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra Festival* have begun with full religious enthusiasm and fervor in the spiritual and historical city of Bodhgaya. On the auspicious occasion of Purnima on Monday, a grand Kalash Yatra (holy water pot procession) was taken out from the ancient Shri Jagannath Temple in Bodhgaya, featuring a large number of devotees and local social workers. The entire atmosphere echoed with chants of "Jai Jagannath."
*Holy Water Brought from Niranjana River for 'Mahasnan'*
The festival commenced with a special Jal Puja organized within the temple premises. Following this, dressed in traditional attire, devotees carried kalashes (pitchers) to the banks of the sacred Niranjana River amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras. There, 11 learned Brahmins filled the pots with holy water according to complete Vedic rituals and traditions.
Upon returning to the temple with the sacred water, the *Mahasnan Anusthan* (grand bathing ritual) of Lord Jagannath, His brother Lord Balabhadra, and sister Goddess Subhadra was performed. Along with the holy water from the Niranjana River, mango juice, sugarcane juice, sandalwood water, rose water, and various medicinal herbs were used for this grand consecration. During the *Mahasnan, the entire temple complex remained immersed in devotion and the reverberation of Vedic chants.
